Everything To Know About
Online Lessons
Online lessons are convenient and fun. They're a great option for students who can't commute, busy families, and even for local students when they have a cold or are travelling and want to continue while they're gone. Here's my guide to online lessons.

What you'll need:

- one* smart device for a video-call (ipad, smartphone, laptop)
- any video-call app (Facetime, Google Meets, Zoom, Whatsapp, etc)
- a pair of wired or over-ear headphones in case of sound issues
- a strong wifi connection
- a private / quiet room (limited background noise)
*Voice Lessons require a second smart device with a speaker to play backing tracks.

How to set up camera:

Voice Lessons: Place camera so that student's upper torso, head and face are fully visible, either directly from the front, or from a 45-to-90-degree angle on the side.
Piano Lessons: I must be able to see the whole keyboard; it's ok to place the camera slightly behind the student, to the side, where a teacher would sit. The student may occasionally need to pick up the camera to zoom in on hands or sheet music, so mobile device preferred.
